More parts coming together

Well happy holidays to you all. As most of us I guess, family has been the priority the last few days, and possibly the next few ones as well. Despite the lack of hobby time, this giant has grown a bit.

Guess this should keep the enemy busy!

In a slow, but none the less forward moving process the Knight is coming together. Take a look at the size of this gun - yasis, gonna make some holes yes?

Seriously huge!!!

I got something wicked out of a box yesterday - the DF Leviathan Crusader, 15mm style. First I was a bit taken aback with how many components there was in the box, but the "how to build" works really well. Now I just can't get over how cool I think it is, that some of the parts are actually held together by metal screws and that so many parts are actually moving.
Managed only to get the one leg done yesterday, but I got you a scaleshot to show how huge this thing is going to be. Really looking forward to get some more work done on this. I think I'll just do this pretty much out of the box, to get acquainted with the model, and then convert the arse out of the next one.

Hypapsist test

Through several different designs, I have been through trying to figure out how to make my hypaspists. Still I haven't been able to come up with something I really liked, and the project has been one of those things that just is set to simmer in the back of your mind and once in a while turns out a new idea. My latest ideas can be seen here, and I'd appreciate your opinion on the ideas, as I'm really trying to figure out what design to go with. What I'm thinking is a mass produced above average soldier, still quite human but with a good deal of tech and bionics - easily more soldier than the tech-priests. Though, topclass and trimmed rank and file soldiers, I also see them as a bit feral, rather violent bunch - without much regret and a burning desire to serve the Machine God.

But please let me hear you views and ideas.

Bits used are: Also planned are some shoulderpads, though I haven't decided on which yet.

Pig Iron and Puppetwar heads

Blightwheel Torsos

Anvil Industry and Blightwheel Legs

 Anvil Industry weapons

Anvil Industry arms - and a planned mix with ones from Mad Robot miniatures

Loads of tanks

Finished all the tanks I want in the army so far - bar a couple of landraiders, which I haven't started yet. Though small they look quite impressive.

Cool stuff on the horizon

Not overly happy about another post being an upcoming project from someone else - an Indigo campaign this time. But hobby time has been scarce these last few weeks, and this thing is simply too good not show, given the other content of my blog.

Some 6 mm minis, which are not AdMech - but will be easy to use as stand-ins. Behold Troublemaker Games' Cybershadows - Indigo campaign about to launch shortly, some other interesting stuff there as well btw.

Anvil Industry Afterlife Kickstarter

One of the best bits suppliers out there, and possibly my overall favourite, Anvil Industry - has finally been letting loose on the promised gamesystem AFTERLIFE - yay! They are already way beyond their goal, 2h39min - I think Joel was in shock, great. But head over there, have a look and get ready to support one of the best miniatures companies out there.

PDC Gaming's tracked weapon platform Review

Some time ago I participated in a Kickstarter from PDC Gaming trying to get some stuff going. I received my plastics just the other day, a combined order of weapon platforms and heavy weapons. As I have been wanting some artillery for my AdMech for quite some time I wanted to put these together ASAP and see if I got what I wanted.
The weapon platform can be fitted with a laser type of weapon, but the accessory sprue will let you add different weapons - cannons, gatling cannon and rocket launcher, as well as let you make a closed compartment platform.

Assembly is rather straight forward with just a few mould-lines. Unfortunately the tracks have some rather annoying mould-lines which takes quite some time to get rid off. The quality of the plastic is excellent without bends or any other problems.
You can make quite a lot of different weapon types from the bits, and the ones I needed the most was the laser and multi barrelled cannon. You also have the option of adding the "top" to the fuselage, and place the weapons on top of that. Personally I like the platform without the top the best.

All in all I think these are a great find, and hope to get some time to paint them soon, as one always need artillery when playing those pesky CSM. Now on to some priests to tend to them......................

And for completion, the heavy weapons sprues - haven't build anything yet from them but this is how they look. Not sure what I'll use them for yet, perhaps just parts.

Holy?

Between a lot of real life action, tons of projects and several really cool bits from kickstarters that have been rolling in, I finally found time to paint a few more tiny warriors. Namely a couple of chaplains to lead my jump troops as well as my terminators. I was really lucky to find an original terminator chaplain - at least I think I was lucky. Never seen one before so I took it they were quite rare.
I'll show off the new Mechanicus bits from the kickstarters over the next days

Heavy support rolling in

Almost done with these heavy support units, just a bit on the weathering side to go. I'm not quite sure why I have only painted three Predators though, as a units consist of four - DOH!

MOM - I just had the weirdest dream

 - I dreamt I had gone to a land with really small mes!

Yes, I know what you are thinking, but bear with me and read on and I think you'll see what I mean. Got a bunch of new models painted up during the weekend. A couple of commanders and a host of scouts. Unfortunately Pig Iron Produtions doesn't make 6mm conversion bits.Have I said before that I really enjoy painting these small minis!!!

...and the dream shot!

Smallest terminators I ever saw!

Somebody might say I'm a WYSIWYG nutter - and they might be right. I simply couldn't bring my selv to say that a unit of termies has two assaultcannons without it being visible at all. So cutting down their bolters and adding a 1mm plastic rod I soon had a handful of armoured and very small terminators with the proper weapons. Also began the work on some scouts I was lucky enough to get my hands on.

Almost an army!

Hey look at this - almost an army painted up in about a month! As earlier stated I really enjoy this painting Epic stuff, and I have to keep moving since I got literally about 5 kg more plastic in the mail yesterday. Best parcel ever - thanks ZOG! The content will make myself and a couple of friends really happy in the future. At least 4 armies in there.
Anyways - here is what it looks like all painted up so far.

Drop pod finished

Finished my prototype, and I like how it turned out. Still think I'll try shortening it a couple of mm next time. I'll also be more careful with the glue, messiness really shows at this scale.

Firepower

Got my first stuff from a very popular 3D printing service yesterday. Was pretty excited as I had never ordered anything from there before and only a few people had any experience with the shop.

I had ordered a few guntowers from and I was not disappointed when they showed up.

Landraider

Thanks to a very friendly person I have been able to put my hand on a coupe of landraiders. I have always loved the landraider model, but never painted any - did start one once but it never really got anywhere. Therefor I was quite happy when I git the chance to include some of these excellent models in my Epic force.
Tried to add as much weathering as possible on such a small scale model, looks rather good I think.

Also added some red markings to my rhinos, to tie them in with the rest.

Ready for deployment

Added a few little detail to the pod, and this is where I'll leave it. Except for the size concerns, I'm pretty happy with the result, and will be looking forward to getting it painted.

Scale

A bit concerned about the size of droppod - a bit on the large side I'm afraid. It not too bad, and I guess making it smaller will make it somewhat less detailed - not sure I want to go down that road. What do you think?

Also been painting up a lot more of little guys.
